    Anand has built a career spanning 25 years in the fields of sustainability, renewable energy, and climate finance as a private equity investor. He is now serving as an advisor to leading global institutions seeking to build businesses and find solutions to the climate crisis and opportunity in Asia.

    Anand is currently a Senior Advisor to two large private equity fund and   is co-leading the build out of their renewable energy platform in India. He is also a Senior Advisor to Australian large Investment Group helping build-out their waste-to-energy business in India. Anand is leading the conceptualization and development of a private equity fund with a New York City based impact advisory firm, that will target high emissions reduction projects in Asia with a strategy to will utilize blended finance of concessional and commercial capital.

    Until 2019, Anand was a Managing Director at Asia Climate Partners (“ACP”). ACP was a private equity fund launched by the Asian Development Bank, ORIX Corporation and Robeco Institutional Asset Management B.V. to target mid-market, growth oriented private equity opportunities in the clean energy, resource efficiency and environmental industry sectors in Asia. ACP managed approximately US$ 450 million.

    Prior to ACP, Anand was a Partner and Managing Director of FE Clean Energy Group (“FE”). FE was a pioneer in bringing private equity capital into renewable energy and climate finance in Asia by raising one of the first dedicated funds in 2004. Mr. Prakash helped establish FE as one of the premier private equity investors in Asia in the clean energy space by identifying, developing and managing investments in India, China, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore. Anand led FE’s efforts to invest in companies valued at over $1.2 billion. These investments have been in areas as diverse as hydro power, wind power, solar power, biomass power, biofuels, waste-to-energy and energy efficiency.

    Anand has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, India, an Economics Tripos degree from St. John’s College, Cambridge University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Cornell University.
